What can I say, I'm sucker for men in the military. And the story between Landry and Madeline is the perfect story of childhood friends who eventually fall in love.
Madeline has always stood by Landry side. Their families were close, but they were closer. They grew up together and had each other backs. But with one phone called, it changed their lives forever. Madeline didn't think twice to drop everything and head over to be with her best friend. But once she got there, her it all became a reality and her world came crashing down. She knew she had to be strong for Landry and she just did that.
Madeline's fussing over Landry, really struck a nerve with him. He knew she was just their to help, but he couldn't deal with all that happened to him. Throughout this book, we watch how these two struggle--how they both tried to cope with the situation.
I really enjoyed how this book went past to present. We got the back story of their lives. It showed how deep their friendship and love is. But as all love stories go, it's not an easy to get to the HEA, and Madeline and Landry were no exception.
