What happens when a boxer finds chemistry with a geek?
Parker Brown can’t believe she needs to hire a fake boyfriend. When she landed her dream job in renewable energy, she thought she’d be entering a world at the forefront of progressive thinking. But the head boss prefers to promote employees who are “settled.” Thankfully, she’s found the perfect candidate, a fellow intellectual looking for some quick cash. What Parker gets is his protective big brother—Rhys Morgan. The tall, muscled ex-boxer with a foul mouth shows up just as her boss does, and now she’s stuck with the manipulative jerk.

Responsibility weighs heavily on Rhys. Now permanently out of the ring, he’s trying to hold together his late father’s gym and keep his younger brother, Dean, on the straight and narrow. To save Dean from himself, Rhys takes his place, ready to give this society girl a piece of his mind. Instead, he finds an opportunity. Even though they can hardly stand each other, posing as Parker’s boyfriend is a win-win deal. She gets to keep her job, and he’ll charm her star-struck boss into sponsoring his gym.

Problem is, they can barely keep their hands off each other. And what started as an easy deal isn’t so easy anymore. Because what future can a rough ex-boxer, afraid to open his heart, and a polished society geek, who has sworn off real relationships, possibly have?
They say opposites attract. These opposites are about to combust on impact.

Handle With Care (Shacking Up #5) by Helena Hunting

HE WANTS TO LOSE CONTROL.
Between his parents’ messed up marriage and his narcissistic younger brother, Lincoln Moorehead has spent the majority of his life avoiding his family. After the death of his father, Lincoln finds himself in the middle of the drama. To top it all off, he’s been named CEO of Moorehead Media, much to his brother’s chagrin. But Lincoln’s bad attitude softens when he meets the no-nonsense, gorgeous woman who has been given the task of transforming him from the gruff, wilderness guy to a suave businessman

SHE’S TRYING TO HOLD IT TOGETHER.
Wren Sterling has been working double time to keep the indiscretions at Moorehead Media at bay, so when she’s presented with a new contract, with new responsibilities and additional incentives, she agrees. Working with the reclusive oldest son of a ridiculously entitled family is worth the hassle if it means she’s that much closer to pursuing her own dreams. What Wren doesn’t expect is to find herself attracted to him, or for it to be mutual. And she certainly doesn’t expect to fall for Lincoln. But when a shocking new Moorehead scandal comes to light, she’s forced to choose between her own family and the broody, cynical CEO.

4 Stars

Handle with Care is a sexy, fast-paced office romance book. Lincoln and Wren were characters that have great chemistry on page. Lincoln Moorehead has always been distant with his crazy family. He's stayed away from the family's multi-million business, Moorehead Media, for years. Until his father's passing and he became CEO. It's the last thing I wants to do, but for six months he told himself and he can do it. And do it for his "G-Mom" - grandmother. But little did he know Wren Sterling would change his life.

Wren Sterling has been working for the Moorehead family for awhile - trying to clean up the image of the younger brother, Armstrong, through good PR. And when she's been asked to stay on longer to help maintain Lincoln's image for the new role as CEO, she never expected to fall for him.

Lincoln and Wren are constantly butting heads when it comes to his public image and working together. But the more time they spend with each other, the more they have a lot in common. But being together is not easy. Both Lincoln and Wren's families have dark secrets that if exposed can ruin a lot of lives.

A fantastic weekend read that sexy and humorous!

On the Corner of Love and Hate (Hopeless Romantics #1) by Nina Bocci

For fans of Christina Lauren and Lauren Layne comes a delightfully sassy and sexy romance about a campaign manager who reluctantly works with the local Lothario to help revamp his image for the upcoming mayoral elections, only to discover that he’s hiding something that can turn both their lives upside down.

What’s a campaign manager’s worst nightmare? A smooth-talking charmer who’s never met a scandal that he didn’t like.

When Emmanuelle Peroni’s father—and mayor of her town—asks her to help rehab Cooper Endicott’s image, she’s horrified. Cooper drives her crazy in every way possible. But he’s also her father’s protégé, and she can’t say no to him without him finding out the reason why: Cooper and her have a messy past. So Emmanuelle reluctantly launches her father’s grand plan to get this Casanova someone to settle down with and help him lose his lothario reputation.

Cooper Endicott wanted to run for Mayor, but he never wanted the drama that went with it. Now that he’s on the political hamster wheel, the other candidates are digging up everything from his past. Even though he’s doing all the right things, his colorful love life is the sticking point for many of the conservative voters. He wants to win, badly, and he knows that if he wants any chance of getting a vote from the female population, he needs to change his image. The only problem? He might just be falling in love with the one person he promised not to pursue: the Mayor’s off-limits daughter.

A perfect blend of humor and heart, On the Corner of Love and Hate is the first in a new series from USA TODAY bestselling author Nina Bocci.

4 Stars

I'm a big fan of childhood friends turned enemies-to-lovers romance and On the Corner of Love and Hate is another fantastic read by Ms. Bocci! This book is filled with humor and plenty of drama between the characters.

Emma Peroni and Cooper Endicott were friends since childhood. Both their parents are in politics - local and state - so they knew what it is like growing up in the spotlight. But over the years as they got older, their friendship took a turn and they became somewhat strangers. Years later, back in their town, they work together and Cooper is prepping in running for Mayor - taking over the role of Emma's father.

Cooper is known for his bad boys/player ways - he's known to hook up with ladies and it doesn't sit well with Emma, who believes he needs to tame his character in order to win the election. Emma and Cooper have a push and pull friendship. I have to say Emma drove me INSANE through this entire book. No matter how much Cooper tried to do everything right, it wasn't right in her eyes.

Emma wants Cooper to win the Mayor election, because he needs to save their town. So helping him on his campaign and trying to salvage any friendship - has her feelings for him start to resurface.

There's a lot of push and pull between these two, so getting to a HEA took time and some screaming at my Kindle for them to just get on the same page. Overall, a great read and looking forward to more characters in this series!

The Candle Palace (Jamison Valley #6) by Devney Perry

Sometimes a single flame can ignite a love that lasts a lifetime.

Milo Phillips knows the meaning of pain. Suffering through the most intense physical agony of his life, he’s confined to a hospital bed to bear it alone. More than once, he wishes he’d died in the explosion that melted and mangled his skin. Darkness consumes him, snuffing all the joy in his life and leaving an empty hole in its place.
But one day, a flicker of light sneaks into his hospital room, driving away some of the hopelessness. For the first time in months, pain isn’t all he feels.

The flicker’s name is Sara Foster, his new nurse. Milo just hopes that Sara can see past his scars. Because underneath, his heart has begun beating again just for her.

4.5 Stars

I will devour a Devney Perry book in one sitting and The Candle Palace is no different! Milo Phillips and and Sara Foster turns a tragic moment into a beautiful love story...

Sara Foster is a nurse working in Burn Unit in Spokane. She enjoys her job and patients, but her mundane and dull life outside of work got her thinking about more. And it all changes when Milo Phillips comes into her unit.

Milo, a cop, from Jamison Valley, gets hurt in the line of duty and ends up in the burn unit. He's angry and in pain, but when the sweet nurse, Sara, comes into his room, all the pain goes away. There is something about Milo that makes Sara's heart flutter. Even with all the burns and scars - their is a calm and light in Milo's eye that has Sara wanting more. But she has to be careful with her patient/nurse relationship with Milo. As these two form a relationship, their our outside forces that will do anything to stop it. Without spoiling all the sweet details of their story - I will say it was complicated for them to finally get their HEA. And that is what  loved about it.

I couldn't get more of these two characters...

The Last Post by Renee Carlino

Laya Marston’s husband, Cameron, a daredevil enthusiast, always said this before heading off on his next adventure. He was the complete opposite of her, ready and willing to dive off a cliff-face, or parachute across a canyon—and Laya loved him for it. But she was different: pragmatic, regimented, devoted to her career and to supporting Cameron from the sidelines of his death-defying feats.

Opposites attract, right?

But when Cameron dies suddenly and tragically, all the stages of grief go out the window. Laya becomes lost in denial, living in the delusion that Cameron will come back to her. She begins posting on his Facebook page, reminiscing about their life together, and imagining new adventures for the two of them.

Micah Evans, a young and handsome architect at Laya’s father’s firm, is also stuck––paralyzed by the banal details of his career, his friendships, and his love life. He doesn’t know what he’s looking for, only that there is someone out there who can bring energy and spirit to the humdrum of his life.

When Micah discovers Laya’s tragic and bizarre Facebook posts, he’s determined to show Laya her life is still worth living. Leaving her anonymous gifts and notes, trying to recreate the sense of adventure she once shared with her late husband, Micah finds a new passion watching Laya come out of the darkness. And Laya finds a new joy in the experiences Micah has created for her.

But for Laya, letting another man in still feels like a betrayal to her late husband. Even though Micah may be everything she could wish for, she wonders if she deserves to find happiness again.

4 Stars

When you read a Ms. Carlino book, you'll know to expect that the story will be heartbreaking, heartwarming and will make you feel her character's emotion. And again, The Last Post, did all that. Wow is what I expected when I first read the synopsis.

Laya Marston is going through the rough and heartbreaking emotions after losing her husband, Cameron. And the only she seems to cope is by "talking" to him through his Facebook. At first, I thought this was just weird, but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense this day of age. It's just another outlet that is so widely used these days, that posting on a love ones Facebook, it's just another way of feeling close to them.

Micah Evans is a unique character. He's not the typical charming, confident hero in a book and it's the reason why I loved him. Micah is going through his life unsure. He's smart and a talent architect, but he's confused on where he's going. It all changes when he meets his boss' daughter, Laya. He can tell their is sadness in her eyes and when he finds out her story, he's determined to make her live her life again.

Laya and Micah form a unique bond/friendship. Everyone is Laya's life is trying to force her to move on with her life, but Laya can't seem to let Cameron go. But there's something about Micah, that makes her considering living again.

The Last Post is not a fast-paced romance between the two, it develops over throughout the book and keeps you turning the page until these two can find a HEA.

Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker

Life is a mixed bag for Piper Calloway.

On the one hand, she’s a twenty-nine-year-old VP at her dad’s multibillion-dollar real estate development firm, and living the high single life with her two best friends in a swanky downtown penthouse. On the other hand, she’s considered a pair of sexy legs in a male-dominated world and constantly has to prove her worth. Plus, she’s stuck seeing her narcissistic ex-fiancé—a fellow VP—on the other side of her glass office wall every day.

Things get exponentially more complicated for Piper when she runs into Kyle Miller—the handsome new security guard at Calloway Group Industries, and coincidentally the first love of her life.

The guy she hasn’t seen or heard from since they were summer camp counselors together. The guy from the wrong side of the tracks. The guy who apparently doesn’t even remember her name.

Piper may be a high-powered businesswoman now, but she soon realizes that her schoolgirl crush is not only alive but stronger than ever, and crippling her concentration. What’s more, despite Kyle’s distant attitude, she’s convinced their reunion isn’t at all coincidental, and that his feelings for her still run deep. And she’s determined to make him admit to them, no matter the consequences.

4 Stars

I'm a big fan of Author K.A. Tucker. She writes beautiful and heartfelt stories that brings characters to real life and keeps you addicted to the pages of the story. And Say You Still Love Me is another fantastic read from this author.

Piper Calloway is the girl from the "right side of the track" - she's from a wealthy family, who never has to worry about what bill to pay next, or how much she should save, or where her next meal is coming from.  When she was sixteen, her mom makes her get a summer job as a camp counselor - saying it will be the best summer of her life. At first, the thought is appalling to her, but it ends up changing her life forever.

Kyle Miller, is from the "wrong side of the tracks" - he works every summer at the camp and that's when he meets Piper Calloway. They spent time the summer falling for each other and when an event happens - their relationship ends, until thirteen years later.

Jump to thirteen years later, Kyle and Piper meet again and they are both grown, but their summer love back when they were teens is still there. But can they make it work after hearts were broken?

What I loved about the book is the back and forth from their past to present. It seamlessly takes you back to share their story when they were 16/17  years old at summer camp and back to present day.  There were a few surprising twists towards the end, that I did not see coming! Again, another fabulous read by Ms. Tucker!

Wicked Angel (Wicked Horse Vegas #6) by Sawyer Bennett

Google Play: http://bit.ly/2Z0VxB3

First there was pain, and now there is just… nothing. No one can ever understand the losses I’ve suffered. A solitary existence that consists of my work and the empty house that serves as a constant reminder of all I have lost.

After months of paralyzing emptiness, I turn to The Wicked Horse so I can feel something. Anything, really. Any shred of emotion that will explain why I’m still here. Any justification for why my life was spared and theirs were not.

It’s all in vain. Not even the debauchery of the notorious sex club can fill the hollowness that consumes me.

Until she walks in.

Absolutely perfect. Gorgeous and bends to my will. Gives me her body willingly, while expecting nothing more from me than the pleasure I offer her. And the more she gives, the more I find myself wanting to take.

Wanting to crawl out of my personal hell for this wicked angel.

4 Wicked Stars

I can't get enough of the Wicked Horse series. You are guaranteed a hot, sexy and drama-filled read. Plus, you get to visit past characters and characters that cross over from other series (yes, this can be read as a standalone!) and once I start a book from Ms. Bennett, I can't stop!

Wicked Angel is another steamy and heartbreaking read. Dr. Benjamin Hewitt has been through some serious tragedy over the last year and to fill his empty, guilty-feel life, he randomly hooks up at the Wicked Horse. But when Elena walks in - everything changes.

Elena joined the Wicked Horse to explore her sensual side but she didn't know meeting Benjamin would change everything. When they explore their relationship, they were determined to keep it strictly based on sex. Nothing more. But when hearts and feelings go along it's hard for them to stop.

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released multiple books, many of which have appeared on the New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Marys strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active daughter, as well as full-time servant to her adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both.

Sawyer also writes general and women’s fiction under the pen name S. Bennett and sweet romance under the name Juliette Poe.
