ARC Review: Vicious Cycle (Vicious Cycle #1) by Katie Ashley

Releases June 2, 2015

New York Times bestselling author Katie Ashley revs up the danger and sexual tension in her brand-new Vicious Cycle romance series.

Deacon Malloy’s life is dedicated to the Hell’s Raiders motorcycle club. Tough, hard, and fast with his fists, he serves the group as sergeant at arms. But his devil-may-care approach to life is thrown for a loop when the five-year-old daughter he never knew existed lands on the club steps.

Alexandra Evans is devoted to all her students—but there’s always been something about Willow Malloy that tugs at her heart. There’s an aura of sadness about her, a girl in need of all the love Alexandra can give. When Willow stops coming to school, Alexandra’s search leads to a clubhouse full of bikers…and a father hell-bent on keeping his daughter always within sight.

The moment Deacon sees Alexandra, he has to have her in his bed—and he’s never met a woman yet who couldn’t be persuaded. No matter how attracted she is to Deacon, Alexandra refuses to be just another conquest. But it’s Deacon himself who could be seduced—into a brighter future for himself, his daughter, and the woman he’s falling for against all odds.

Everyone knows I love a good MC read and congrats to Ms. Ashley for branching out into the MC world! Vicious Cycle (what a great name!) is a new series about bad ass Raiders MC boys who have a dirty-mouth and does "shady" things for a living. They love women and are full of danger and sex!

Vicious Cycle starts off with a bang! The prologue of this book hooked me. Five-year old Willow caught my attention. She is a sweet girl, living in a crappy life and witness a horrific event. She is then thrown into Deacon's MC world, but neither of them knew each other existed. And oh...did that ever throw Deacon off.

Deacon Malloy is tough to crack--even his new found little girl, couldn't get him to soften up. This is what drove me nuts about him. His brothers, mother and even some Old Ladys took in Willow to help care for her. But Deacon just wasn't sure what to do with his little girl, but he was willing to do anything to protect her.

After a months living with the MCs, Willow still suffered from her traumatic experience. She was still frightened that the "mean man" was coming after her. But something about Ms. Alexandra Evans, her new teacher, she felt comfortable.

Alexandra is a teacher who took a special liking to Willow too. And after missing days of school, Alexandra goes in search of Williow's father. There she walks into the Raiders MC world for the first time. She's immediately assaulted with Deacon's words--let's just say he jumped to conclusions at first! But there was plenty of sexual attraction and dislike between these two.

After a deal is made between Deacon and Alexandra, she finds herself more attached to Willow and her father. And danger immediately begins to follow Alexandra. Vicious Cycle takes through twists, turns and plenty of danger for Alexandra and Deacon. Plus, they do have a few dirty, steamy scenes!

I honestly can't say I was a huge fan of this couple, because I wasn't feeling the chemistry between them, but I did love the relationship between Willow and Alexandra. I am excited to read more on Deacon's brother, Rev, in the next book, Redemption Road. Even though he had a small part in this book, his character intrigued me. Rev needs his own HEA with a good woman!
