ARC Review: Zack (Cold Fury Hockey #3) by Sawyer Bennett

New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett goes for a hat trick with the latest romance in a sexy series about cool-as-ice hockey players and the women heating up their lives.

Rising star Zack Grantham has been stuck in a downward spiral of grief ever since the car accident that left him a single dad and put his career on hold. Back on the road with the Carolina Cold Fury and still crippled by emotional baggage, he’s in need of some serious help with his son. But while the nerdy new nanny wins his son’s heart, Zack isn’t sure he’s ready for a woman’s touch—even after getting a glimpse of the killer curves she’s hiding under those baggy clothes.

Kate Francis usually keeps men like Zack at a distance. Though his athlete’s body is honed to perfection, he refuses to move on with his life—and besides, he’s her boss. Still, the sparks between them are undeniable, tempting Kate to turn their professional relationship into a personal one. But before she makes a power play for Zack’s wounded heart, Kate will have to open him up again and show him that love is worth the fight

I love the Cold Fury men!  We all remember the tragedy that hit Zack, Gina and their little boy, Ben, from the last book. It was heartbreaking, but Kate, my favorite new heroine knew how to help Zack and Ben pick up the pieces.

Kate Francis is a fantastic character. She is dorky, funny (loved the nicknames!), honest and just hardworking. She didn't come from a rich background, but she has a family that stuck through all the rough times and Kate plowed through life to make sure she is able to stand on her own feet.

Zack Grantham was recovering from a horrific car accident that took his son's mom's life, Gina. So he soon found himself a single father and trying to live with guilt. Knowing that he'll be back on the ice soon, he needed to find a live-in nanny to help care for Ben.

In comes Kate, highly recommended by Zack's sister. Zack has built these walls up and is determined to live with his walls up and not let anyone in. No matter how charming and funny Kate is. Kate tell it like it is, she doesn't hold back. This is why I love her character. She's determined to make Zack smile and Ben comfortable.

Over time, Zack finds himself opening up to Kate. But sleeping with your son's nanny with no strings attached is never a great idea! Hearts and emotions take a toll. And it does for the both of them.

Zack is another fantastic read in this series that filled with plenty of angst, sweetness and lots of hot steam between the characters. And the relationship that Kate has with Ben is priceless.
