I loved this book. I loved Jess' characters. She is strong, feisty and tells it like it is. She gives Dimitri a run for his money. He maybe scary, bad ass and shes' been taken against her will, but she's not afraid! Right off the bat, Jess throws Dimitri plenty of sass.
Where Darkness Lies (#2) continues on from the first book. It follows Dimitri and his ten-year long revenge against Hendrix. He vows to kill Hendrix--by the way of getting through Jess. But little does he know that she is the one person who might be able to reach within him and make him forget about his mission!
The relationship between Dimi and Jess is humorous at times and has a lot of sexual tension! The more she stays as his captive, the more they start learning about each other. And eventually realize they are similar--both have endured horrendous pasts. Their attraction slowly grows.
I loved reading about their relationship and how it played out. There was a lot of trust issues between the two, which caused plenty of heartaches and pain. But when they eventually gave into each other it was sizzling and hot! And they complemented each other perfectly.
Their journey together in this book was filled with plenty of angst, passion and sweet moments.
As I said before about the last book--I'm a huge fan of MC reads and this series is like MCs on the ocean! Arrrghhhh, Captain! Looking forward to more in this series!
