Trinity Seymour knew she never wanted to be like her mother; Trinity wanted stability. In her teenaged mind, it was easy, go to college and get a good job. Only her life isn’t that easy and along the way, choices are made.

Trinity never could have envisioned where she’d end up or that Jeron Price, the local screw-up, would become her tarnished savior. Together they travel a path together that leads to friendship, love, and family. Only their life is built on a foundation of secrets that could destroy everything they’ve made for themselves.

How do you repair something you never knew was broken? And when the worst happens, how do you carry on?

I looked up at Jeron to find him watching me, again “night” I murmured and turned to leave. Only Jeron caught my wrist and I turned towards him. He gently tugged me closer, his eyes watching me intently.

“Trin” he whispered, bringing his hand up to my cheek, his thumb gently caressing.  I couldn’t do
anything but try to remember to breathe.  His other hand came up slowly stroking my other cheek,

“Trin” he whispers again. One of his thumbs slowly strokes down my cheek, and then softly traces my bottom lip.  “So beautiful” he croons before leaning down, his lips so tenderly float across my own.  He pulls back slightly and looks at me, then leans back in. His hands slowly slide from cheeks to cup my neck on both sides, his thumbs sweep across my collar bone, reassuring me. Then his tongue gently glides across my bottom lip, my lips part on a soft sigh, and then he’s pressed against me, his tongue slipping across my lips into my mouth. He groans as our tastes mingle, and I’m lost in him, his scent, and his taste.

When he pulls back, his hands still against my neck, his thumb leisurely caressing my throat “Trin” he groans, sound like he’s in pain. That’s when I realize what just happened, my first kiss, and it was with my best friend. I push away, jolting him; his eyes widen as I spin away and run to my room slamming my door closed.

About the Author:

Brei is a stay at home mom to one very interesting little boy. I have been writing since 7th grade when my English teacher turned me onto poetry and never stopped. Thank you Mrs. Williams. In high school I had yet another English teacher inspire me to start writing short stories where I found my first true love, turning words into something so simple yet complex that it can move other people to love it or hate it, but in the end to feel emotions about something I created.
