4 Stars out of 5

Oh come on! How could you not love this book? Take a hot, alpha-male, who does what he wants (and helps catch bad guys) and a sweet, funny, tenacious woman, and you'll  you have the perfect book! What can I say, I'm a huge, huge, huge Kristen Ashley fan and C.P. Smith did a brilliant job on writing this book that is similar (but not!! It's unique!!) and brought these characters to life.

Jack Gunnison is bossy and oh so protective of his woman and town! He's the town sheriff and trying to catch a serial killer. Jack is so busy with work, he never has time to settle down with a woman. He's on the go with his job and women can't seem to understand that. That's until Jennifer comes breezing in town. Jennifer Stewart, moves to Jack's small town in Colorado. She's a reporter, which means she is feisty and trying to get the scoop by using her charm. And boy, does she catch the eye of many men. Especially Jack! But he doesn't fall for any of Jennifer's antics.

There's a crazy killer out and has his eye on Jennifer. But don't fear, Jack is there to protect her! These two have hot chemistry and are perfect together. A Reason to Breathe is a great read--full of action, mystery and a whole-lotta steam!

Jack collapsed onto my chest but held himself up with one arm. His face in my neck, lips kissing and tasting, light nips at my ear as we both recovered from our release.

“Jesus, Baby, can’t remember when I came that hard.”

“I’m not complaining. You’ve got mad skills, Sheriff.” Rising up and looking down at me, he smiled and laughed as he moved from between my legs and then curled me up into his chest. We lay like that for a while as we recovered, then I tipped my head back and asked.

“You wanna stay the night? I’ll make pancakes in the morning.” Jack grinned, kissed my lips and answered.

“Considering I’ll still be buried deep in you when the sun comes up, yeah Babe, I’ll stay for breakfast.”

“What?”

“Not finished with you by a long shot that was just a warm up.”

”Wow.”

“You got that right.” Jack grinned; then his eyes went soft.

“Jesus, you’re somethin’ else.” I liked hearing that. So I told him.

“You’re not so bad yourself, Jack.” “I thought I was bossy?”

“You’re that as well.” “And bullheaded.”

“You heard that?”

“Heard the reckless and arrogant part too.” I giggled, and his eyes warmed. I could stare at his warm, rugged face all night, but decided I’d rather kiss him, so I did, and he rewarded me for my forward thinking with his body on me, in me and behind me the rest of the night.
