Hard Hitter (Brooklyn Bruisers #2) by Sarina Bowen

Releasing January 3, 2017

He’s a fighter in the rink, but he’s about to learn that playing nice can help you score...

As team captain and enforcer, Patrick O'Doul puts the bruise in the Brooklyn Bruisers. But after years of hard hits, O'Doul is feeling the burn, both physically and mentally. He conceals his pain from his coach and trainers, but when his chronic hip injury becomes too obvious to ignore, they send him for sessions with the team’s massage therapist.

After breaking up with her long-term boyfriend, Ari Bettini is in need of peace of mind. For now, she’s decided to focus on her work: rehabilitating the Bruisers’ MVP. O'Doul is easy on the eyes, but his reaction to her touch is ice cold. Ari is determined to help O'Doul heal, but as the tension between them turns red hot, they both learn that a little TLC does the body good...

4 Stars!

I've been a big fan of Ms. Bowen's books. She sucks you into a story and makes you fall in love with the hero of every book. And team captain Patrick O'Doul is another moody book boyfriend you can't help love!

Hard Hitter is a fantastic read filled with humor, romance and angst! I love sport-theme books and this one is a hit. It is the second book in the series, but can be read as a standalone.

Team captain Patrick O'Doul isn't getting any younger. And the hits on the ice is starting to take a toll on him and his body. But he's determined to remain on the ice and will hide it from the coaching staff. But he can only take so much.

When O'Doul is required to see the team massage therapist and yoga coach, Ari, he's hesitant. Even though he's in pain, the thought of laying on that table and getting "fixed" is not how he wants to spend his time. And for Ari, having the hot team captain on her table is messing with her head. She has no time for relationships, because she just got out of a bad one with a crazy ex.

As Ari and Patrick spend time together, they slowly realize their friendship could be more. But making it public is something they both want to jeopardize. This book is filled with a moody hockey player and a girl who just wants to succeed in her professional world, without all the drama. But what fun is that? Hard Hitter is another great read in this series and I can't wait for more!
