A Cosmic Kind of Love Samantha Young

Space is the last thing an event planner and an astronaut need in this charming new romantic comedy from New York Times bestselling author Samantha Young.

When event planner Hallie Goodman receives party-inspiration material from the bride of her latest wedding project, the last thing she expects to find in the files are digital videos from Darcy’s ex-boyfriend. Hallie knows it’s wrong to keep watching these personal videos, but this guy is cute, funny, and an astronaut on the International Space Station to boot. She’s only human. And it’s not long until she starts sending e-mails and video diaries to his discontinued NASA address. Since they’re bouncing back, there’s no way anyone will ever be able to see them...right?

Christopher Ortiz is readjusting to life on earth and being constantly in the shadow of his deceased older brother. When a friend from NASA’s IT department forwards him the e-mails and video messages Hallie has sent, he can’t help but notice how much her sense of humor and pink hair make his heart race.

Separated by screens, Hallie and Chris are falling in love with each other, one transmission at a time. But can they make their star-crossed romance work when they each learn the other’s baggage?

4 Cosmic Stars

I've been a fan of Ms. Young since day one. She never disappoints with her storytelling and A Cosmic Kind of Love is another heartwarming read from this author.

This book is not only heartwarming, but a bit emotional with the characters. On the outside, these two characters - Hallie and Chris, seemed to have it all. The successful life and career, but on the inside they both are deeply hurt by family. And let me tell you, the dynamic between Hallie and her parents broke my heart!

I love the way Hallie and Chris met, it's definitely a twist and I loved it. It such a millennial way. I enjoyed their character growth both as individuals and as a couple throughout the novel. These two really learned about themselves in this relationship.

Making the Match (River Rain #4) by Kristen Ashley - Review

“You don’t get to make decisions for me, Mr. Pierce.”

“You’re wrong, baby. I do.”

Making the Match, an all-new spicy, heartfelt and emotional second chance standalone romance in the River Rain Series from New York Times bestselling author Kristen Ashley, is available now!

If you love second chance, single parent romance, pining, a couple over 40, redemption and forgiveness, this is the book for you.

Decades ago, tennis superstar Tom Pierce and “It Girl” Mika Stowe met at a party.

Mika fell in love. Tom was already in love with his wife. As badly as Tom wanted Mika as a friend, Mika knew it would hurt too much to be attracted to this amazing man and never be able to have him.

They parted ways for what they thought would be forever, only to reconnect just once, when unspeakable tragedy darkens Mika’s life.

Years later, the impossible happens.

A time comes when they’re both unattached.

But now Tom has made a terrible mistake. A mistake so damaging to the ones he loves, he feels he’ll never be redeemed.

Mika has never forgotten how far and how fast she fell when she met him, but Tom’s transgression is holding her distant from reaching out.

There are matchmakers in their midst, however.

And when the plot has been unleashed to make that match, Tom and Mika are thrown into an international intrigue that pits them against a Goliath of the sports industry.

Now they face a massive battle at the same time they’re navigating friendship, attraction, love, family, grief, redemption, two very different lives lived on two opposite sides of a continent and a box full of kittens.

Fall in love with Tom and Mika!

4.5 Stars

I say it every time I finish a Kristen Ashley book - I can't get enough! I love  how the story lines all come full circle from previous books in the series. And second chances are my favorite trope.

This author tells a story and sucks you into the characters lives. It's always refreshing to read about finding love later in life. I'll admit, this book does start a tad bit slow, but surely picks up.

We all know about the love and heartbreaking story of famous tennis star, Tom Pierce and his famous actress wife, Imogen Swan. But what we didn't know is about his friendship with Mika Stowe (and no, there's no cheating between the two!).

Mika and Tom had instant chemistry.  And it was great to see Tom finally get his happy ending, even though he felt like he never deserved to have one. And Mika was the perfect match to help him get there. Tom's daughter Chole was a nosy-body in this one, but I loved her tenacity to make sure her parents were happy.

Overall, the story between Tom, Mika and Imogen did come full circle and I loved the characters and how they all fit together. Again, Ms. Ashely is a beautiful storyteller and I just can't read her books fast enough. This author has given me my favorite books and characters for years!!

Starry-Eyed Love by Helena Hunting

Charming, hilarious, and emotional,
Starry-Eyed Love is Helena Hunting at her very best!

Having just broken up with her boyfriend, London Spark is not in the mood to be hit on. Especially not when she’s out celebrating her single status with her sisters. So when a very attractive man pays for their drinks and then slips her his number, she passes it right back to him with a ‘thanks, but no thanks’. As the business administrator for their family’s event hotel, the Spark House, London has more important things to worry about, like bringing in new clientele.

As luck would have it, a multi-million-dollar company calls a few months later asking for a meeting to discuss a potential partnership, and London is eager to prove to her sisters, and herself, that she can land this deal. Just when she thinks she has nailed her presentation, the company’s CEO, Jackson Holt, walks in and inserts himself into the meeting. Not only that, but he also happens to be the same guy she turned down at the bar a few months ago.

As they begin to spend more time together, their working relationship blossoms into something more. It isn’t until their professional entanglements are finally over, that London and Jackson are finally ready to take the next step in their relationship. But between Jackson’s secretive past and London’s struggle with her sisters, London must question where she really stands - not just with Jackson, but with the Spark House, too.

3.5 Stars

I adored the Spark sisters! And I enjoyed London's love story in this series, Starry-Eyed Love! London Spark is hard-working and just trying to find her own footing in their business. And Jackson Hoyt, the  charming CEO, strictly professional business man who rejects office romance is also extremely likable hero who fell for London right away!

London meets Jackson at a bar. Sparks start flying between them but London rejects dating with him because she already carries too much on her plate, focusing on her business life and a few months later she meets the same charming guy as a potential partner who has his own multi billion dollar company.

But as the story goes, as the more they work together, their dynamic and interest shifts!

The Bully (Calamity Montana #4) by Willa Nash

Nellie Rivera is trading traffic for tranquility. When the quiet streets of small-town Montana beckon, she leaves Denver behind and moves to Calamity. It would be the perfect adventure if not for Cal Stark.

When her archnemesis dares to show his face one Saturday morning, declaring he is moving there too, she vows to make his life a misery. The town isn’t big enough for the both of them and besides . . .

She was here first.

Cal has been a thorn in her side since high school. He might have bullied her back then, but she’s not a modest teenager anymore and has learned a few plays of her own. If all goes to plan, she’ll run the former pro quarterback out of town within a month.

There’s only one problem. Cal has the same plan. He wants Calamity bad enough to pull out all the stops. And after one kiss, she realizes that he doesn’t play fair.

4 Stars

Another fabulous and intense read in this series. The Bully had all the feels and emotions. Nellie Rivera and Cal Stark were complicated characters who grew up with a lot of hurt and misunderstandings.

Nellie and Cal hate each other. And I mean hate. Their banter, the constant push and pull, had me reading nonstop and just wanted to smack the two and see how much they can be friends without all the bitterness.

But their enemies status doesn't turn to friends to lovers, but just enemies to lovers. I think this was my favorite of the series so far! It’s always so fun to see characters from the other books in the series make appearances. And i love how the epilogue of each book gives a tiny hint about the next one in the series!

Stone (Pittsburgh Titans, Book 2) by Sawyer Bennett

Stone (Pittsburgh Titans, Book 2) Sawyer Bennett

Minor league player Stone Dumelin lost his younger brother when the Titans’ team plane went down. He never expected the phone call that followed.

After a shoulder injury put my NHL career on ice, I resigned myself to the fact I’d never see my way out of the minor league again. As my career faded, my estranged brother’s star shot into orbit as the first line left winger for the Pittsburgh Titans. But when the team’s plane crashed returning home one night, his light was snuffed out, and I was given the opportunity of a lifetime. Now I’m in Pittsburgh, playing for the Titans, and face-to-face with my dead brother’s ghost at every turn. His locker, his legacy, his persistent and annoyingly gorgeous attorney who won’t stop contacting me about his estate, even though I’ve demanded she leave me alone. Harlow Alston would be extremely appealing if she wasn’t so aggravating. Only…that’s a complete lie. She pushes all the right buttons for me, and as much as I want her to quit pestering me about Brooks’s estate, I find myself intrigued by the fiery redhead who can’t take no for an answer. And the more I learn about Harlow, the more I find she might be the key to understanding who Brooks really was, and who I want to be. I’ve got a second shot at a career I thought I’d lost and the opportunity to build something real with Harlow, but can I find strength to move forward or will my past dictate my future?

Mr. Wrong Number by Lynn Painter

Things get textual when a steamy message from a random wrong number turns into a thrilling anonymous relationship in this hilarious rom-com by Lynn Painter.

The most sidesplittingly funny, shenanigan-packed, sexual tension-filled book I’ve read

in a long, long time.”
—Ali Hazelwood, New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis

“A delightfully messy heroine and world-class banter make this oh-so-sweet story of hidden identities and mixed (text) messages impossible to put down.”
—Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka, authors of

The Roughest Draft

Bad luck has always followed Olivia Marshall...or maybe she's just the screw-up her family thinks she is. But when a "What are you wearing?" text from a random wrong number turns into the hottest, most entertaining—albeit anonymous—relationship of her life, she thinks things might be on the upswing....

Colin Beck has always considered Olivia his best friend's annoying little sister, but when she moves in with them after one of her worst runs of luck, he realizes she's turned into an altogether different and sexier distraction. He's sure he can keep his distance, until the moment he discovers she's the irresistible Miss Misdial he's been sort of sexting for weeks—and now he has to decide whether to turn the heat up or ghost her before things get messy.

4.5 Stars

Mr. Wrong Number is a fun, humorous and sexy read. This is the first book that I've read from this author and now I'm a big fan of hers. I need to go back and read other books from Ms. Painter.

I absolutely loved the characters in Mr. Wrong Number. Olivia Marshall and Colin Beck has the best 'frenemies' banter. Their non-friendship/hate relationship is one of the most entertaining reads in a rom-com.

Olivia is kind of a hot-mess, but she owns it. After a break-up and some mess, she moves in with her brother and his best friend, Colin, in order to get back on her feet. Olivia and Colin go way back, she's Jack's younger sister and was also known as the annoying kid to Colin. But fast forward, Olivia is all grown up, but, yes, a mess!

In a weird chance, Colin ends up texting a Olivia by mistake not knowing it was each other. Their fun text exchange become flirty and anonymous and soon become Mr. Wrong Number and Ms. Misdial

She’s just not his perfect woman, and she knows that too.

Then Rix gives Alex a hint that maybe there’s a spark between them that, if she takes the leap, she might be able to fan into a flame. This leads to a crash and burn, and that’s all shy Alex needs to catch the hint never to take the risk again.

However, with undeniable timing, Rix’s ex, who broke his heart, and Alex’s family, who spent her lifetime breaking hers, rear their heads, gearing up to offer more drama. With the help of some matchmaking friends, Rix and Alex decide to face the onslaught together…

As a fake couple.

4 Stars

Kristen Ashley does it again. I love the way this author writes and tells a story, she really makes you fall for every character in her books - you just want to jump in live their lives. And as always, Rix Hendrix, is another uber alpha male character you want on your side!

Alex and Rix work together and Alex has always been the shy one. She's awkward and quirky and Rix wants everything to do with it.  But the last thing he needs is to have an issue with his shy coworker Alex and his best friend and business partner, Judge.

Rix doesn't know Alex has a thing for him and vice versa. But after some pushing and pulling, these two start to realize how much they mean to each other. And to help Alex out with her dramatic family, Rix decides he will be her fake fiancé to her sister's wedding in New York. Get ready for some family drama and chaos!

This series has so much potential is more books - there are so many characters that are in this series, that I can't (and hope) wait for their stories.

Running Wild (Wild #3) by KA Tucker

From the internationally bestselling author of The Simple Wild comes the story of a woman at a crossroads in her life, struggling between the safe route and the one that will only lead to more heartbreak.

Veterinarian Marie Lehr knows unrequited love all too well after pining for her best friend, only to watch him marry another woman. It’s a mistake she will never make again, especially not when she can practically hear the clock ticking on her childbearing years.

The trouble is, she can’t seem to find anyone who appeals to her even a fraction as much as that burly bush pilot did. Competitive musher Tyler Brady certainly doesn’t, especially not after the heated altercation with the handsome but arrogant, spiteful man.

Or so she thinks.

While volunteering at the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, Marie discovers that first impressions may have been false, and her attraction to Tyler is very real. But his heart belongs to someone else, leaving him with nothing to offer but friendship. Marie’s been down this road before and knows how that ends. Yet, no matter how hard she works to keep from falling for Tyler, it seems she’s doomed to follow her own trail once again.

4 Stars

I've been waiting for Marie's happily ever after story. We knew she wasn't the one for Jonah - he was always meant to be with Calla. But I always love Marie's character, she is passionate of saving animals and just wants to find her true love.

After Marie has accepted that her best friend, Jonah, found his soulmate, Marie realized she had to move on. She couldn't be more happier for him. Marie took over her father's veterinarian clinic. She loves helping animals so much, she tends to let her clients skip on payment and it's caught up with financially.

Competitive musher Tyler Brandy is new town. Marie and Tyler start off on the wrong foot. Their banter and chemistry is too cute, but they both are surprised how attracted they are to each other, but there's something stopping both of them on moving forward.

What I love about this book is that I learn so much about the world of competitive mushing in Alaska. I honestly had no what all goes into this sport.

Overall, Running Wild is a great edition to this series and rounds the Wild series. But can we get Reed's book next?
