Code Name: Hacker (Jameson Force Security, Book #4) by Sawyer Bennett

Code Name: Hacker (Jameson Force Security, Book #4)
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: March 31, 2020

I’m not the same Bebe Grimshaw I was years ago. The woman I was spent years behind the bars of the highest security women’s prison in the nation, my punishment for hacking nuclear codes as part of a crime syndicate I’d gotten in way too deep with. The woman I am today doesn’t regret what I did, or the fact that I got caught, but I am remorseful for the years I lost with my son, Aaron. Released from my sentence early thanks to Kynan McGrath, I joined his team at Jameson Force Security and now put my skills to use helping people.

I’m just trying to get back a piece of what I lost, focusing solely on raising Aaron and my work at Jameson. As long as I have my son and my career, I’m content. But life has a funny way of letting you know exactly what you need, and when a devastatingly handsome stranger named Griffin befriends Aaron at the park, I have to consider I might be missing something. A part of me that was locked away long ago reawakens, and I find myself looking at Griff in a way I’ve not looked at a man in more than a decade.

Just when I think things are starting to look up, my world is turned upside down. Turns out that meeting wasn’t an accident, and things aren’t going my way at all.

Griffin Moore is the man sent here to kill me.

About the Author:
Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released multiple books, many of which have appeared on the New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Marys strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active daughter, as well as full-time servant to her adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both.

4.5 Stars

All I Ask is a top favorite read for 2020. I'm a big, big fan of second chance friendship/romance and this book had it all: drama, heartbreak and finding "the one" again.

Teagan and Derek were best friends in high school.  They were opposites - she was the popular and dating the star high school quarterback. Whereas, Derek was awkward and not in the "in crowd."  Their friendship was the best thing they had with each other, even though they were dating others at the time. And when their lives didn't go as planned - their friendship took a hit.

Thirteen years later, Derek is back home with a teen daughter and facing his best friend again, is going to be the hardest thing for him. Teagan is now a single mom and trying to raise her daughter as best as she can and Derek back is not easy.

This story is emotional and heartfelt. I loved every party of this book!

From Alaska With Love by Ally James

A soldier has six weeks to convince the only woman he has ever longed for to take a chance on life with him in Alaska....

Sara's letters were the only bright spot during Gabe's devastating tour in Iraq. With each new correspondence he fell harder, needed her more, wanted to be with her. Now, after initially rejecting his offer to meet, she's shown up at the door of his isolated cabin in Alaska looking for...what? Gabe's not sure what made Sara change her mind, but he knows he never wants to let her go.

Major Gabe Randall is everything Sara Ryan wants but nothing she feels she deserves. A modern-day spinster, Sara hides behind family obligations and the safe, quiet life she's resigned herself to living. But secretly, even though she may have stretched the truth about who she is in her letters to him, she wants Gabe. Will he still want her when he discovers the real woman behind the pen?

Once they meet, Gabe asks her for six weeks in Alaska. Six weeks to spend getting to know each other, and then she'll have to decide whether they are better together or apart

4 Stars

From Alaska with Love is a beautiful read about two people who fall in love from one random Easter card.

Sara's life has been in a rut, shes thirty-five, single and has been a nanny to her sweet little niece. Her entire family has taken Sara for granted. She's given up her own life to take care of her family and they are nothing but ungrateful for it.

And when Sara sends one random card to a solider overseas - her entire life changes forever.

Gabe, a soldier in Iraq, has lived most of his adult life in the military - being overseas and fighting for our country. When he gets a random card from Sara, he is hooked with his mystery pen-pal, who makes him laugh with her quirkiness and humor and makes his time overseas a little bit easier!

As Sara and Gabe grow a strong bond over letters, emails and video chatting - they can't help fall for each other. But when Gabe returns home back to Alaska and Sara in North Carolina - can they make it work?

I love the dynamic of this couple and Trouble, Gabe's dog. This book had plenty of sweet moments and lots of drama to get to their happily ever after!

“You haven’t told me your story,” he says once we’re seated in a booth and have ordered.
“I finished my degree and realized it was basically good for nothing and there were next to no jobs available anyway. Or at least nothing that appealed. Teachers and librarians are fighting for every scrap of funding they can get while newspapers are folding. The publishing industry is going through serious cutbacks. Majoring in English Lit may have been a mistake.” I shrug. Truth is, I got stuck for various reasons. But this explanation is easier to swallow. “Figured if I was going to wind up serving then I’d like to do it somewhere I can walk along the beach now and then, without getting stuck in traffic for hours.”
He nods. “Makes sense.”
“I thought so. I’ll figure out what I want to do with my life eventually.”
“No rush. Good that you can take the time and space to figure things out for yourself without anyone pressuring you.”
“Just the student loans hanging over my head,” I say.
His answering smile is brief and small. “Grow up around here?”
“Close enough, San Bernardino,” I say. “What about you?”
“No, I’m half a country away from home and intend to keep it that way. Though maybe half a country away is still too close. I hear Iceland’s nice this time of year.”
I raise my brows in question.
“Family.” He shrugs. “What can you do?”
The waitress delivers our food, filling up the table with Beck’s order of half of the breakfast menu. Without hesitation, he proceeds to devour it all. If I ate that much, my ass wouldn’t fit in the seat.
“Want some?” He offers me a forkful of pancake, dripping with syrup. “It’s good.”
“I’m fine with my burger. Thanks.” And I’m curious as heck about his family, but pressing him further wouldn’t be polite. Dammit.
“So what are my future wife’s favorite hobbies and or interests?”
“Hmm.” I stick a fry in my mouth and chew, thinking it over. “Reading, films, music…the usual. You?”
“Lots of things.”
“Such as?”
“I don’t know…hiking, rock climbing. Stuff like that.”
“So basically I like to sit still and you’re all about being busy and athletic. We have nothing in common.”
“No. Wait. I can change,” he jokes. “Give me another chance.”
“You shouldn’t have to change.” I swirl another fry in some ketchup. “I’m sure you’re perfectly fine just as you are.”

Runaway Road (Runaway #1) by Devney Perry

Londyn McCormack didn’t have a typical childhood. She ran away from home at sixteen, escaping parents more interested in drugs than their daughter. She doesn’t have loving siblings or an adorable pet. Her only family is the five other runaway kids who shared her junkyard home.

Life pulled them all in separate directions, taking her to Boston. For a short time, she thought she’d found something permanent. But after a devastating divorce, she’s running away again, this time to find a lost friend.
She’s driving across the country in her convertible. As a teenager, the rusty car was her shelter. As an adult, it’s her ride to freedom.

Except one flat tire derails her trip. Her life collides with Brooks Cohen. They walked away from the first crash. The second might destroy them both.

“When was the last time you had pie for dinner?”

“Can’t say I ever have.”

Her fork dove into the chocolate cream. She hummed and her eyes drifted closed when the bite passed her lips. She savored it, rolling it around in her mouth. The woman had a talented tongue—lucky pie. She moaned again, torturing me with the subtle sound.

She swallowed, then shot me a smile that was pure sex. “You’re missing out.”

I snapped my fingers, raising my hand in the air to flag down the waitress. When she came over, I pointed to Londyn’s plate. “I’ll have that.”

4 Runaway Stars!

What a great start to a new series and I'm looking forward to more. Runaway Road is another fantastic read from Ms. Devney. The way she tells a story and builds up characters, who make you want to live in their lives.

Londyn McCormack is a runaway child, who survived neglectful parents and surviving on her own, while meeting other runaways - who end up being her family and best friends. Years later, Londyn is married and now getting a divorce after an unhappy marriage - and it's on the road again in search of lost friend. But she ends up in West Virginia with some car problems and it changed in her life forever.

Brooks Cohen has never meet a woman like Londyn. Her life as a child and the way she's determine to find happiness, is something he can't shake. As they spend more time together, and the more they get to know each other, they realize that the situation is only temporary - because Londyn is just passing through. But both are afraid to move forward or on.
