“Are you nervous right now?”

I nod.

“Tell me why.”  His demand, steady and calm, gives me the courage I need to tell him.  To open a vein and bleed my insecurities.

“I’m not perfect,” I whisper.

“And neither am I, Willow.  I don’t want perfect.  What so many see as perfect, to me, is fake.  Perfect isn’t achievable naturally.  No one, and I mean no one, is perfect.”

I’m shaking my head before he’s even done speaking, but one long finger comes up and presses against my lips before I can speak.

When he stops, I swear I might have stopped breathing.  How am I supposed to respond to that?

“Do you trust me?” he asks, his voice strong and sure.

“Yes, Kane.  Nerves or not, I do.”

“Then let me show you what I see when I look at you.”

He brings his hands up, framing my face once again in a way I’m quickly becoming addicted to the feeling of.  His warm eyes implore, begging me without words to let him continue.  I do not intend to stop him, regardless of the butterflies currently taking over my system.  I’m all in.

4 Butterfly Stars

I knew this book was going to gut me and it did. Butterfly Dreams is a beautifully written story about two people, who have gone through life with so much heartbreak and pain. But learn to overcome their fears and learn to live life to the fullest by loving each other. 

Corin Thompson has panic attacks and is certain that she is suffering from some sort of ailment. Even though the doctors tell her nothing is wrong with her health. She's been living her life in fear and just waiting for the shoe to drop.

Beckett Kingsley's life changes in an instant when he suffers from a heart condition. He's always been active and athletic and now he's learning to cope and adjust to this "new life."  And trying not to feel sorry for himself, he decides to live his life to the fullest. He wants to learn to live again.

When Beckett and Corin meet by chance, their lives change (for the better!). There's a connection between these two that is deep and only they both can understand. Their friendship wasn't easy at first, Corin was always pulling away, but Beckett didn't want to miss an opportunity with her. These two characters were perfect for each other. The sarcasm and humor between them was fantastic.

Butterfly Dreams is a quirky, beautiful, heartbreaking and uplifting read. The romance between Corin and Beckett made me laugh and cry.

I loved this book! Some Sort of Crazy is another fantastic and funny read in the Happy Crazy Love series. Natalie Nixon is perfectly happy with her life--she's been dating her high school sweetheart for the last ten years. Natalie owns her own shop and home and seems content with her life. That's until her and her sisters visit a psychic and she starts to question her life and relationship with her (jerk!) boyfriend, Dan. Is she really happy? Does she just want to settle down with being "just ok?" 

Her best friend Miles Haas comes back into town and shakes it all up for Natalie. They have been friends forever and never taken it further. Miles is a well-known flirt and player. He is a successful writer, known for writing about the single-man's life. 

But spending time summer with Miles has Natalie wanting more in her life. He makes her laugh and they have a great time together. But Natalie is afraid to push it--knowing how Miles loves his one-stand ways. 

Some Sort of Crazy is a quick and steamy read that had me laughing at Miles. And also wanting to punch him. No, there's no love triangle, but there's plenty of drama and angst that goes along with it. Looking forward to more in this series with the next sister!

Wow! What a refreshing and heartbreaking book. I wasn't quite sure where this story was taking me in the beginning, but it just went in a direction that made me angry and hold my breath with every page. Unlawful Justice is a fantastic read that will open your eyes and make you doubt humanity at first, and then it will restore it. 

Olivia Bradshaw is such a sweet character. I wanted to hug this girl. She was raised by her grandpa and lived a life full of happiness and cared for so many. But after a horrific event, it changed her life. But she was determined not to let it control her life. 

Deputy Grayson Taylor has taken a liking of Ms. Bradshaw. They've known each other since high school, but their lives never really crossed paths. That's until a crime is committed on the Bradshaw's property. Then after the awful crime that happened to Olivia, Grayson was determined to protect and find justice for her. Along with helping her heal.

But it turns out that the crimes in Harmony Falls is more than Grayson bargained for. Cover-ups, corruptions and lies are what Deupty Taylor goes head to head with. Unlawful Justice is a fantastic read that is filled with so much drama, hate, mystery and injustice.

His gaze softens as he cups the side of my neck. “Jesus, you should never feel insecure. You’re fucking beautiful, Liv, bruises or not. Nothing in the world could ever change that.”

I watch him carefully, his sincerity tearing through my defenses. “You really mean that, don’t you?”

He rears back, the skin between his brows bunching together in deep valleys of confusion. “Of course I do. How could you not know that?”

I shrug. “I don’t know. I guess it’s…” I pause for a moment before deciding to bare it all. “It’s hard for me to believe you still think I’m beautiful despite finding me the way you did.”

Understanding dawns and he quickly shakes his head. “No, not ever. That didn’t change the way I look at you. Yes, it fucking gutted me to see you that way, but not once did I think any less of you.” He pulls me closer while his determined gaze bores into mine. His jaw flexes, the rhythm of his chest growing heavier. “It should have never happened. Nothing so hateful should have ever touched something so beautiful. But make no mistake, Liv, when I look at you, I don’t see the girl I found that day, I see the girl who survived it all. You’re fucking beautiful, inside and out, nothing or no one will ever change that.”

My breath hitches as tears blur my eyes, his words healing my wounded soul. “You make me feel beautiful,” I choke out softly.

“Good, baby, because you are, every inch of you, and don’t ever fucking forget it.” He closes the small space between our mouths, his lips claiming mine in a heated caress as his tongue sweeps in.
