ARC Review: Alex (Cold Fury Hockey #1) by Sawyer Bennett

Hockey star Alexander Crossman has a reputation as a cold-hearted player on and off the rink. Pushed into the sport by an alcoholic father, Alex isn’t afraid to give fans the proverbial middle finger, relishing his role as the MVP they love to hate. Management, however, isn’t so amused. Now Alex has a choice: fix his public image through community service or ride the bench. But Alex refuses to be molded into the Carolina Cold Fury poster boy . . . not even by a tempting redhead with killer curves.

As a social worker, Sutton Price is accustomed to difficult people—like Alex, who’s been assigned to help her create a drug-abuse awareness program for at-risk youth as part of the team’s effort to clean up his image. What she doesn’t expect is the arrogant smirk from his perfect lips to stir her most heated fantasies. But Sutton isn’t one to cross professional boundaries—and besides, Alex doesn’t do relationships . . . or does he? The more she sees behind Alex’s bad-boy façade, the more Sutton craves the man she uncovers.

4.5 Hot Hockey Stars

Alex is an ass. He's one of the hottest hockey player, but the man has an attitude, he's rude and just a one big prick. They don't call him MVP for nothing, and that's "Most Valuable Prick!"

Alex has a troubled past. This makes me lash out and lands him in trouble with the big wigs in the hockey league. His "punishment" is to work on his public image by helping out a drug-abuse program for teens.

This is where he meets the feisty Sutton Price. Sutton is a social worker at the shelter who has been assigned to work with Alex on this program. There is clear attraction when these two meet, but Sutton knows not to cross the line with Alex. But that doesn't stop Alex.

Eventually these two give in and Alex begins to change after their relationship carries on.  Sutton's sweetness and caring nature rubs off on Alex. But there all moments when the old Alex comes out and hurts her.

Alex and Sutton's relationship is off the chart steamy. Ms. Bennett knows how to write plenty of hot scenes that makes my Kindle sweat! I loved the story and happy that Alex and Sutton eventually found their HEA.

I can't wait to read more in this series!
