She’s back.
For the two years she’s been away at boarding school, there was no word from her. Back when we lived in the same house, she used to cut me down during the day and then leave her door open for me at night.
I was stupid then, but now I’m ready to beat her at her own game…
I’m back.
Two years and I can tell he still wants me, even if he acts like he’s better than me.
But I won’t be scared away. Or pushed down. I’ll call his bluff and fight back. That’s what he wants, right? As long as I keep my guard up, he’ll never know how much he affects me…

Madoc. I loved him. He is an ass, a jerk, but funny and H.O.T. There will always be a special place for these Fall Away boys in my heart.
I'll be honest, I was a bit hesitant about these two, Madoc and Fallon. Why? Cause they were step-siblings. Ew. But no, their story, their relationship is far from something icky. These two were not even close to being in the same family. They both come from such dysfunctional parents, it's surprising that these two eventually got it together.
There were plenty of secrets and misunderstanding. They were estranged for two years-- Fallon just up and left Madoc. He was hurt and angry, thinking their "relationship" was all a lie. And Fallon thought Madoc was just playing her. Needless to say, the truth comes out when the reunite, but it's not an easy road for forgiveness between them.
I did love the banter and the back and forth between Fallon and Madoc throughout Rival. They both had some good-one-liners in there that made me laugh. But damn, who knew Madoc is steam, hot dominant and a serious bad boy in the bedroom (and out--particularly in a park!). Let's just say, my Kindle was sweating after reading some scenes between these two.
Overall, Rival is a great read that is filled with plenty of angst, hotness and a great HEA for these two. And...getting a little more of my all-time-favorite couple, Jared and Tate, is a huge bonus in this book! And I'm excited for Jax's story next, he definitely stepped up his game in Rival.

About the Author
Penelope Douglas is a writer in Las Vegas. Born in Dubuque, Iowa, she is the oldest of five children. Penelope attended the University of Northern Iowa, earning a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, because her father told her to "just get the degree!" She then earned a Masters of Science in Education at Loyola University in New Orleans, because she hated Public Administration. One night, she got tipsy and told the bouncer at the bar where she worked that his son was hot, and three years later they were married. To the son, not the bouncer. They have spawn, but just one. A daughter named Aydan. Penelope loves sweets, The Originals, and she shops at Target almost daily.
