But, not long after setting off, a car slams into the back of theirs. The driver is none other than Addie's ex, Dylan, who she's avoided since their traumatic break-up two years earlier.
Dylan and his best mate are heading to the wedding too, and they've totalled their car, so Addie has no choice but to offer them a ride. The car is soon jam-packed full of luggage and secrets, and with three hundred miles ahead of them, Dylan and Addie can't avoid confronting the very messy history of their relationship...
Will they make it to the wedding on time? And, more importantly... is this really the end of the road for Addie and Dylan?
4 Stars
This book is not what I expected. It was even more! The Road Trip by Beth O'Leary is the first book I've read from this author and now I am a fan.
This book is the ultimate 'road trip' book - it's a fun, humorous with an unexpecting twist to it! What I enjoyed is the present and past story about Dylan and Addie's relationship - the way the author wrote their story, really worked and made you feel how they fell in love since day one and ended up breaking up.
Their story isn't perfect and the road trip is not the perfect reunion - there are plenty of grudges, resentment and unfinished business between Dylan and Addie. And that is what makes this read emotional.
The Road Trip is a great second chance story that will make you feel ever emotion these characters went through.
