ARC Review: The Fire Between High & Lo (Elements #2) by Brittainy C. Cherry

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

Logan Francis Silverstone was the complete opposite of me. I danced while he stood still. He was quiet, and I was always running my mouth. He struggled to find a smile while I refused to frown.

The night I saw the darkness that truly lived inside of him, I couldn’t look away.

We were broken together, yet somehow whole. We were wrong together, but always right. We were the stars that burned across the night sky, searching for a wish, praying for better tomorrows.

Until the day I lost him. I threw us away with one hasty decision—a decision that changed us forever.

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

And for a few breaths, a few whispers, a few moments, I think he loved me, too.

5 Stars

Let me just start and say that whatever Ms. Cherry publishes, I'm always guaranteed to love. Every book I've read by this author is brilliant written and the stories about the characters are unforgettable. And that is exactly what Logan Francis Silverstone and Alyssa Marie Walters are--unforgettable characters.
"Hey, Hi.""Hi, Lo."
Logan Silverstone didn't grow up with a silver spoon in his mouth. Far from it. This kid struggled to live everyday with an addict mom and an abusive father when he showed up. He looked up to his half-brother, Kellan, who loved him unconditionally, even though they have different fathers. My heart broke for Logan because he went through so much at such a young age.

Alyssa Walters has been intrigued by the handsome, quiet and sad boy. They started to build a friendship and instantly became best friends. Alyssa was the only person, besides his brother, that Logan could trust. They slowly fell in love and it's when events took a turn and broke them apart.

The Fire Between High & Lo seriously gutted me. This book gave me all the feels between sadness and happiness. It's a beautiful story about two lost souls finding each other through so much tragedy and hardship, but it eventually makes them whole and stronger. I was also so invested in the secondary characters, that this book made me feel not only for the main characters, but I also hurt for the others.

Another brilliant read in this series and can't wait to read more!

A
bout the Author

Brittainy Cherry has been in love with words since the day she took her first breath. She graduated from Carroll University with a Bachelors Degree in Theatre Arts and a minor in Creative Writing. She loves to take part in writing screenplays, acting, and dancing--poorly of course. Coffee, chai tea, and wine are three things that she thinks every person should partake in! Brittainy lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her family. When she's not running a million errands and crafting stories, she's probably playing with her adorable pets.
